The
Land of Dead Giants is a small novel, a piece of fiction based largely
on the life of the author. It is the story of a 12-year-old boy growing up in
the Atchafalaya Basin in 1948, and about his relationship with his grandfather,
a former logger who tries to keep this fact secret from his grandson...The book
can be read at a child's level by 11 or 12 year olds, and at an adult level
by grownups. Dead Giants is in English with a full French translation
and contains 47 drawings and 65 b/w photographs. A stage adaption is in progress
and a screenplay has been written based on The Land of Dead Giants.
(softbound--208 pages).
