Greg Guirard was born in St. Martinville, LA, and moved to
the western edge of the Atchafalaya Basin at age two. He has spent
most of his life looking for his proper direction, having worked as
a school teacher, actor, writer, publisher, photographer, sawmill
worker, crewboat driver, crawfisherman, lecturer, farmer, cattleman,
Cajun dialog coach, guide and adviser to film crews, and furniture
maker.
The environment of the Atchafalaya Basin is at the center of almost
everything he does. He has recently published a non-fiction
book with 103 bw photographs--PsychoTherapy
for Cajuns. His most recent work,Inherit
the Atchafalaya, will be available from Greg in early December 2007.

something about being out in the swamp, especially when you're alone,
that seems to suck the poisons of civilization out of you, some
sort of healing power that lets you begin to be yourself again...."
